Intern Desktop Support Engineer – Roles & Responsibilities

Roles:

The Intern Desktop Support Engineer is responsible for providing technical support and assistance to end users, ensuring smooth operation of computer systems, hardware, software, and network-related issues within the organization.

Responsibilities:

Provide first-level and second-level technical support for desktops, laptops, printers, scanners, and other IT equipment.

Install, configure, and maintain operating systems (Windows/macOS), software applications, and system updates.

Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware, software, and network-related issues and resolve them in a timely manner.

Support users with email, internet access, antivirus, and security-related issues.

Handle system backups, data recovery, and basic cybersecurity practices as per company policy.

Maintain inventory of IT assets including desktops, laptops, accessories, and software licenses.

Coordinate with vendors for hardware repairs, replacements, and AMC-related issues.

Ensure proper documentation of issues, solutions, and system configurations.

Assist in onboarding and offboarding employees by setting up or disabling user accounts, systems, and access rights.

Ensure compliance with company IT policies, procedures, and security guidelines.

Provide basic training and guidance to users on system usage and best IT practices.
