What\u2019s more, it reduces the chances of errors and allows the reuse of all configuration and mapping.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Who needs to file?<\/h2>\n<p>Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA), 7<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0June 2011: The following class of Companies are mandated to file their financial statements in XBRL format from Financial Year 2010-11 onwards:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>All listed companies including their Indian subsidiaries (but excluding overseas subsidiaries)<\/li>\n<li>Companies having a paid up capital of\u00a0<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.tallysolutions.com\/website\/images\/rupee_icon.png\" alt=\"\" \/>\u00a05+ crore<\/li>\n<li>Companies having a turnover of\u00a0<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.tallysolutions.com\/website\/images\/rupee_icon.png\" alt=\"\" \/>\u00a0100+ crore<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a title=\"MCA\" href=\"http:\/\/www.mca.gov.in\/XBRL\/Imp-app.html\" target=\"_blank\">MCA<\/a>\u00a0also proposes to include all companies from this Financial Year onwards.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Filing procedure:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>MCA has published a library (taxonomy) of elements which can be mapped with the\u00a0various accounting heads in the chart of accounts (CoA) of the company<\/li>\n<li>The taxonomy elements also include non-financial data (Director\u2019s details, Auditor\u2019s report,<\/li>\n<li>Director\u2019s report, etc.) which needs to be filled<\/li>\n<li>Creation of the instance documents (report in XBRL format)<\/li>\n<li>Validating the instance documents with the free validation tool provided by MCA<\/li>\n<li>Uploading the validated instance documents on the MCA portal. along with the prescribed\u00a0forms (Form 23AC and Form 23ACA)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Note : Through their General Circular No. 69\/2011, dated 30th November 2011 the last date for filing in XBRL format has been extended up to 31.12.2011 or within 60 days of the due date of filing, whichever is later<\/p>\n<p><strong>What is XBRL?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>XBRL stands for eXtensible Business Reporting Language. XBRL is a language for the electronic\u00a0communication of business and financial data which is revolutionizing business reporting\u00a0around the world.
